Product Information
For end caps with a similar diameter to that of the fiber, a larger cored fiber, typically “coreless” or “graded index” fiber is spliced to single-mode or multi-mode transmitting fiber.
The process requires the ability to cleave large fibers, splice the fibers to the end cap, and precisely cleave the end cap.

Thermally-Expanded Core Increases Mode Field Diameter (MFD) for Easier Coupling
Thermally Expanded Core Fiber has an expanded mode field diameter obtained by heating a conventional single-mode fiber locally at high temperature.
TEC Fiber has the feature that although thermal diffusion changes the refractive index profile, the normal frequency does not change and hence the single mode condition is maintained through the process.
The core expansion rate depends on heating temperature and heating time.
